Thom Killingsworth is the co-founder of Innovation Hospitality, overseeing strategy, operations and leadership. Thom has dedicated his career to the hospitality industry with over 30 years of Sales, Administration, Project Management, Pre-opening and Opening Experience at some of North America’s Leading Hotels and Resorts.

A task-force specialist and innovative leader, Thom led the $50MM repositioning of Food and Beverage at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, including achievement of the AAA 5 Diamond award for the Banffshire Club.

With the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Thom managed the implementation of the Fairmont Gold Lounge and 550 room refresh project. Internationally, Thom led the $90MM rebranding of the Sutton Place Hotel to the Fairmont Newport Beach and was also named Canada Region General Manager of the Year for Starwood Hotels.

Thom is an entrepreneurial spirit and takes a similar approach to his work, and specifically takes pride in working with property teams to deliver exceptional results. Thom also holds an International Bareboat Skipper Sailing Certification, and is a Sail Canada Certified Basic Cruising Instructor.

Douglas Goubault Partner

Douglas Goubault is the co-founder of Innovation Hospitality, overseeing strategy, governance and advisory services.

Prior to his role at Innovation, Douglas was COO of JV Driver Investments, leading a private equity fund with investments in hotels, automotive, insurance and real estate. Douglas has worked extensively in the Golf, Resort and Hospitality industries including 12 years with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts. He has specific experience in hotel and hospitality development at locations in Canada and Mexico as well as projects in the US, South Africa, Oman and UAE.

Douglas is a Certified Corporate Director and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Douglas is also an Internationally Certified Firefighter, Fire Officer and Fire Services Instructor.

Sally Pierce

Public Relations, Communications, Sales and Marketing

Originating from North Wales, Sally is a dual British/Canadian citizen who has spent the first half of her life living in the UK, and the second half in Canada. She began her career in London, England, working for a large investment firm before moving back to the North West of England to work for Digital Equipment Co (DEC) as a meeting/event planner. In this role, Sally was selected to be part of the DECWorld Team, hosting an event for 18,000 customers, over a two-month period, at le Palais des Festivals in Cannes, South of France. When Sally emigrated to Canada, she transferred her skills to the hotel industry.

Sally began her hospitality career working as Conference Services Manager for a luxury, boutique hotel property in the Canadian Rockies before being hired as Convention Manager for Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. She spent nine years with the Canadian Pacific Group, both Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, and Canadian Pacific Railway as the Sales Manager for the Royal Canadian Pacific, the Railway’s luxury, vintage train, where she was tasked with successfully building the sales portfolio from the ground up.

In 2012, while working for Comcast Spectacor in venue management, Sally was selected for Comcast’s Leadership Institute where she captained the winning team. Sally has held Executive roles in the hospitality industry, before starting her own consulting company. She has delivered several large projects under this banner, including GoMedia 2015 for Destination Canada.

Today, with over 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, and a long-time resident of British Columbia, Sally is an articulate, eloquent, well-respected, and collaborative team player.

Trevor Long

Operations/General Management, Luxury

Originating from Manitoba, Trevor completed his two-year Hospitality Management program before beginning his career in a food and beverage leadership position at a Four Seasons hotel property in Ontario. Moving West, he joined the team at the beautiful Hotel Ft. Gary in Winnipeg as the Lounge Manager. From there, he headed to the Canadian Rockies and joined the Fairmont Banff Springs, holding several food and beverage leadership roles over four years.

Trevor had an opportunity to move to the new, upscale Rimrock Resort Hotel that was just opening. In doing so, he was provided with learning opportunities and career growth as he held the positions of Banquet Manager, Director of Food and Beverage, Director of Operations, before taking the lead in 2012 through 2023 as General Manager. Overseeing 425 colleagues and two restaurants, two lounges, coffee shop, Spa & Fitness, 18000 sq ft of banquet space and 343 guest rooms, Trevor was proud to retain the 4-Diamond recognition for the hotel during his time and the 5-Diamond award for the Eden Dining room.

Trevor has been a strong contributor to the communities of Banff and Canmore, sitting on the Board for Banff & Lake Louise Tourism for two consecutive terms, as well as President of the Banff Lake Louise Hospitality Association for eight years. He is currently an Executive Board member at the Canmore Golf & Curling Club, where he is Past President and now the Secretary/Treasurer, sitting on the Master Plan Committee and the Membership & Finance Committee.

Trevor is an avid golfer, hiker, biker, and enjoys cooking and spending quality time with his beautiful wife Sheryll and two bulldogs. Hospitality has been a major part of Trevor’s life for over 30 years and his experience, passion, and desire to make improvements to the industry will serve him well in providing guidance and direction to those looking for mentorship.

Trevor Allen

Operations/Project Management/Service and Training

Trevor Allen is a seasoned hospitality leader with over 25 years of experience, including key restaurant and banquet management roles at Fairmont Hotels in the Canadian Rockies. During his decade with Fairmont Banff Springs and Château Lake Louise, Trevor developed a strong foundation in team leadership, operational excellence, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

His career flourished further as the co-founder and operator of the Iron Goat Pub & Grill in Canmore, where he successfully designed, launched, and managed the restaurant’s daily operations. He later joined Mission Hill Family Estate as Food & Beverage Manager and Sommelier, elevating wine curation and guest service standards. For ten years, Trevor also played a pivotal role at Township 7 Vineyards & Winery, overseeing multi-location operations, driving revenue growth, and fostering strong, inclusive teams.

A certified Sommelier, Trevor also holds certifications in Wine Business Management, Wine Business Accounting, and WSET Level 3, reflecting his deep expertise in both wine and business operations. He is currently completing a Project Management Certificate at UBC Sauder School of Business, further enhancing his ability to lead large-scale projects and initiatives.

Known for his results-driven, strategic approach, Trevor blends financial acumen, team empowerment, and a passion for hospitality to help businesses achieve sustainable success. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and exploring British Columbia, where he resides and gives back to his community through volunteering at the local food bank.

David MacGillivray

Culinary, Food and Beverage

David has worked for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, in a variety of positions, for his entire career before applying his extensive knowledge, training, and experience to educating and cultivating new industry recruits in his role as Instructor at Selkirk College in Nelson, British Columbia. Here David teaches Culinary Management, Postgraduate Culinary Management, Postgraduate Hospitality Management, and Resort & Hotel Management.

Some of the highlights of his comprehensive career include the role of Executive Chef for Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, and Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. David held the position of Director of Food and Beverage at the Fairmont Banff Springs, and Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. In addition, he was Director of Operations at Fairmont Chateau Whistler as well as Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

In the role of General Manager, David opened the Fairmont Zimbali Resort and Lodge in South Africa. He opened this resort hotel complex, with Beach Club and Willow Stream Spa, nine days before the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

David was selected as Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Leader of the Company in 1993, and was a member of Culinary Team Canada in 1997, winning the World Championships Scot Hot competition in Glasgow.

David has been married to Sandy for 30 years and together they have two beautiful adult daughters and three grandchildren. Moving to Nelson, British Columbia, and working at Selkirk College is a dream come true!

Tracey Duquette

Tracey Duquette is from Penetanguishene, Ontario, a small French town on the waters of Georgian Bay. At an early age, Tracey felt a calling to work, beginning her Food and Beverage career in a little local burger café. Too young to earn an hourly wage, Tracey was delighted to receive tips and delicious food, emersed in an environment which shaped the journey for her future.

Today, with a degree in Communications and 28 years of hospitality experience, 17 of those years managing people and systems, Tracey founded Duquette Consulting, a company where people matter, at a time where finding the connection between a person’s identity and work has never meant more. Tracey has been a resident of Kelowna for the last 15 years and has cultivated a path that is both authentic and meaningful for her.

Tracey is motivated by people. Her goal is both simple yet powerful, driving to shift attention to the people she is surrounded by. She strives to create an environment of value and respect, where individuals can thrive and be recognized for who they are, and not just what they produce. It is about having people in the right role and immersing them in a culture that recognizes their true selves.
